Interestingly, the C-Suite was less likely to respond “unsure” than other levels of the organization, and 70% of them answered “Likely” or “Very Likely.”

While the classic center of excellence (CoE) remains the most popular, hub and spoke is on the rise. In the hub and spoke operational model, AI experts (advanced, graduate-level data scientists) are in the hub, business units and functions are in the spokes, and they collaborate on product development. Like in a CoE, the hub is responsible for infrastructure, standards, and tracking industry innovation. However, ownership of AI products shifts to the spokes.
