Aside from demonstrating the size and scale of Okta’s footprint, the company has a pole position on insight into the apps and services corporate folk use to get their jobs done. Do they have a venture fund? Seems prudent.
The insights are only reflective of the Okta customer base, and 10 points to the survey team for pointing that out. That also would have been a great spot to point out some traits of Okta’s customer base. For that we have to go elsewhere, and I’m not in a read the earnings transcript and search the investor deck kind of mood tonight.
This data is fantastic for understanding changes in the number of people in an org using a service. Alas, spend and value can be inferred, but be careful with that conclusion. Impressive growth numbers might be a freemium service incinerating money.
